News: Orthopedic Designs Receives FDA 510(k) for Femoral Nail in Mid-shaft Fractures

Orthopedic Designs North America received FDA 510(k) clearance to market the Talon™ DistalFix™ Antegrade/Retrograde Femoral Nail with patented Talon™ Distal Locking Technology, for application in the treatment of mid-shaft femoral fractures.
A proximal femoral application for Talon DistalFix was cleared by FDA in 2011
ODi-NA’s exclusive Talon™ technology eliminates distal locking screws and provides superior fixation in the femoral head.
 Proximal Fixation
The lag screw’s Talon™ technology enables the surgeon to maximize proximal fixation through greater rotational control, enhanced compression, and increased resistance to cutout versus a traditional lag screw.

3x Rotational Stability
2x Compression
Less Cutout

Distal Fixation

The Talon™ DistalFix™ technology results in less operative time, elimination of stress risers, fewer incisions, reduced radiation exposure and decreased operating room expenses.

NO Distal Locking Screws
NO Free-Handing
Less Radiation
Avoid Stress Risers
