, /PRNewswire/ -- Mitek Sports Medicine,* part of DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson, is introducing two new arthroscopic surgery radiofrequency devices this week at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) 2015 Annual Meeting. The VAPR TRIPOLAR 90 Suction Electrode and the VAPR ARCTIC Suction Electrode are hand-held, energy-based devices utilized by orthopaedic surgeons to ablate or coagulate targeted soft tissue. The electrodes were co-developed with surgeons and offer innovative design features aimed at enhancing performance, procedural efficiency and patient safety during shoulder and hip arthroscopy.
VAPR® TRIPOLAR 90 Suction Electrode, with COOLPULSE® Technology is the industry’s first hand-controlled tripolar suction electrode. Optimization, at your fingertips!
Proprietary tripolar tip design maintains an ideally positioned return to optimize ablation energy field and another ideally positioned return to optimize coagulation energy field, all in a single device. Independently optimized ablation and coagulation means no performance trade-off, regardless of setting.
The VAPR ARCTIC® Suction Electrode, with COOLPULSE® Technology is the industry’s first articulating bipolar suction electrode. Articulate your success in hip arthroscopy!
The electrode delivers the access you need with the efficiency, clarity, and comfort of a fixed-angle electrode. Equipped with long articulation length and large articulation range (110 degrees) for accessing hard-to-reach spaces in the hip anatomy. A 3.4mm shaft diameter provides a rigid yet low-profile electrode for strength and maneuverability in the confined hip joint.
Indications For Use
The VAPR TRIPOLAR 90 Suction Electrode and VAPR ARCTIC Suction Electrode are compatible with the VAPR VUE Radiofrequency Electrode System. The VAPR TRIPOLAR 90 Suction Electrode is intended for resection, ablation and excision of soft tissue, hemostasis of blood vessels and coagulation of soft tissue in patients requiring arthroscopic surgery. The VAPR ARCTIC Suction Electrode is intended for resection, ablation and excision of soft tissue, hemostasis of blood vessels and coagulation of soft tissue in patients requiring arthroscopic surgery of the hip.
